The short version
- We only collect what we need to reply to you and to do your project.
- We never sell or rent your information.
- Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never store your card details.
- We use Google Analytics to see which pages are helpful.
- We don’t send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
- You can ask to see, fix or delete your information any time at [email protected].
1. Who we are
Slashkode is a web design and development business run by Jatinder Singh as a sole trader in Melbourne, Victoria (ABN 20 568 892 923). In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Slashkode.
2. What we collect
When you contact us (through our form, email, WhatsApp, phone, or by asking for a call):
- your name and email address
- your website address, if you give it to us
- the message you send, and any details you choose to share
When you become a client:
- your business name and contact details
- the content for your website, such as text, images and logos
- your domain details, and the access we need to connect your domain to your website
- a record that you accepted our Terms (the date, time and version)
- a record of what you’ve paid and when. Card payments are handled by Stripe, so your card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on our website or in our systems. We can see limited details such as the card type and last four digits.
When you visit our website: basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. Google Analytics also shows us things like how long people stay, what device they use, roughly where they are (for example, the city) and how they found us, such as a Google search or a link.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- To build, host and look after your website
- To take payments, send invoices and keep our financial records
- To send emails about your enquiry, payments and project
- To understand how people use our website, so we can improve it and be found in search
- To keep our website secure and working properly
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
We don’t use your information for anything else.
4. Who we share it with
We only share information with the services we need to run the business:
- Google Workspace for our email
- Resend to send emails from our website and from client websites, such as enquiry notifications, confirmations and receipts
- Stripe for payments
- Google Analytics and Google Search Console to see how our website is used and how it appears in Google searches
- our web hosting and domain providers
- WhatsApp if you message us there
They only receive what they need to do their job. Some of them store data outside Australia, for example on Google, Resend, WhatsApp or Stripe servers. Stripe’s own privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
We may also share information if the law requires it. We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
5. Other services on our website
Our pages load fonts, scripts and animations from third-party services such as Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg, LottieFiles, CodePen and Unsplash. When a page loads, these services can see your IP address and browser details, the same as they would on any website that uses them.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to count visits and see which pages are helpful. We use that information to improve our website, not to identify you.
We also use Google Search Console. It shows us how our pages appear in Google searches and doesn’t track you personally.
You can turn cookies off or delete them in your browser settings. You can also stop Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The website will still work.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become projects: up to 2 years, then we delete them.
- Client records: for as long as you’re a client. After you cancel, we keep invoices and payment records for 5 years, as tax law requires.
- Records of accepting our Terms: for 7 years after you stop being a client, in case we need to show what was agreed.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months, then Google deletes it automatically.
- Your website: if you cancel, your website is turned off. The website we built, including its code and design, stays with Slashkode (see our Terms). The materials you gave us, such as logos, photos and media, we return on request at no cost, or delete the originals if you prefer. If you want a full copy of your website with its code, just ask and we’ll give you a clear price.
8. How we protect it
We use trusted providers and keep access limited to the person doing the work. No system is 100% secure. If a breach could seriously affect you, we’ll tell you as soon as we can and do what the law requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- show you the information we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete your information, where the law lets us
- stop contacting you
Email [email protected] and we’ll reply within 30 days.
10. Complaints
